Arriving Friday - Can I Expect Ques?

Hi Everyone, I will be getting to the festival on Friday morning this year for various reasons. I have friends taking my tent on the Wednesday to pitch so should be ok on this front but wondered if there are likely to be big ques getting through the gates? I normally arrive on the Wednesday and after a trip back to the car to get more grog I dont usually go out again so have no idea what its like at any other time and where I will be likely to park?

Won't be much of a queue, if any at all. You'll probably end up parked a fair distance from the gate.

They don't always fill the car park in a logical fashion though.

I remember one year where I was directed closer to the gate for some strange reason... it's probably more likely going to be a treck though as aforementioned. But possibly quicker to make an escape on Monday.

Saying this, they don't always allow you to leave logically either

You'll be straight in, in fact the people on the gate looking after newcomers will be pleased to see you as they probably wouldnt have much to do on Friday morning!! Car parking will be a lottery.

I did this a few years back. Left central london at around 3pm and only stopped once for a comfort break [slash] at a services and had a cold cider in my hand at 8pm [granted my mates had set up my tent for me]. Parking is as random as if you arrive early. You park where they tell you. I got slotted in close to gate b and the east field campervan field, which turned out otbe less of a hike than where the rest who arrived on the thursday ad.

If you are arriving in 1989 they'll be a bit of queue. Any time after that and you'll be absolutely fine. Unless it pours down of course, there was a queue Friday in 2005.
