This time in 7 weeks I'll be setting off. Some of you will already be there. Hope it warms up. It is too quiet on here. Who did that heal hurt thing last year? Have we got time for another? Does any one care?

Damn! Is it that close I will be there already enjoying my second day at Donington :D

Doubt we will have time for a hurt/heal unless it was just main,2nd and 3rd stage acts and with 20 points to play about with

Yay! Magnums rock but they're not waterproof. Liz the big boss has given me a couple of sets and they are just the ticket. Support and comfort. I think I did a T for 5 days in a kilt where the closest I got to sleeping in my sleeping bag was collapsed on the tent floor. My magnums didn't get taken off for the whole time and my feet never complained at all. Not like my household when I finally did take them off :)

The Magnums I got are waterproof too (or supposed to be I hope) as leather is treated with "ion mask" apparently. Used them in the snow and they seemed to be ok but lets se how they stand up to mud!

I just wear the Scorpions, dessie ones and black ones as Her Majesty gave me them for free. The dessie ones get wet but the black ones fare better but with thick merino socks it matters not if you get wet feet anyways. They are dead comfy from the first use but make sure you wear them quite a lot before taking a fest in wearing them, even if it's just the odd walk and round the house. I loves them.

I got Elite force 8.0 WPI. Have sent scrubbertheman a link to where I got them if interested as that site seems to have job lots going cheap. I didn't get Panthers as I think from memory they had a side zip. These ones didn't seem to need breaking in either. I got them in October and did 5 x 2 hour walks in the snow over New Year with no problem.

My mate who recommended Magnums is ex RAF and he wears basic issue and polishes up and has no problems either although he says they need breaking in.

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
