Trolleys

Hi guys,

I went to V as my first festival last year and really struggled to carry my stuff and refused to pay out on the rates for hiring the trolleys there. I am going back this year and thought I should invest in a little trolley for a bit of help. Does anyone have any tips on where to get a good/cheapish one? I can go to IKEA and get one of these for only £9. http://www.ikea.com/...ducts/30129959/

Do you think its worth it or should I fork out £25 for one of the B&Q ones?http://www.diy.com/n...83#BVRRWidgetID

Any help is appreciated, cheers :sarcastic:

1st year I took far too much crap that I didn't need! We hired a trolley and it took us a few trips...was horrible! Year 2 I took half the amount of rubbish (but just as much ale) and took my massive backpack that I took when I went travelling. One trip (good job as we went by train/shuttle bus) and was pretty comfortable! If you have one then I'd do that...I'll be taking it again this year despite driving. If not it'll be cheaper for you to buy a trolley. But I'd seriously consider stuff you're taking and think if you need it. We took loads of food and a big stove etc. to the 1st one and eneded up buying food there anyway, but last year decided to just take a tiny stove and firelighters to make a cuppa in the morning and bought our food there (think we took cheap crisps).

If you are taking crates of beer and heavy items, you would happily hand over your own mother for a decent trolley if its raining and you £9 trolley has just broken half way to your campsite and theres no-one to give you a hand!

Invest in the decent trolley and use it again and again! enjoy !! :D

I have tried alsorts over the previous 12 or so years but the best is the garden trolley that I have recently bought again (borrowed from work before) off ebay. They are expensive at £55 but they fit in the car and are a dream to carry all your beer and everything else very easily..............well worth the investment.

I have previously tried taking less, the sack trucks from B&Q but these things blind them all, they appear expensive but believe me when you are using it you realise money well spent. Just chain it to a fence when you set up camp and you are sorted.

If you want a link to the one i bought just let me know.

I picked up an old pram/pushchair locally for a fiver off ebay; chunky air filled tyres, all steerable. Worked a dream last year in the mud at Glasto, plus if it does get 'borrowed' it's only a few quid lost.

I would go for something with 4 wheels rather than 2, especially if its muddy.

23 days to go :)

I'll be taking my golf trolley, the 2 other times I've been I've carried my stuff in one go and it was hell on earth, I'm driving this year so I'll get all my stuff on my trolley, and can put any extra stuff i may or may not need in the car and get it later on if needs be, You can get golf trolleys from sports direct for about a tenner , they have nice big wheels so should do the job, just get a few straps to keep everything in. they also have the added bonus of folding up and having detachable wheels so they don't take up much room either.

    • My understanding is that the queues returning back to the UK will be much worse (up to two hours) but the queue entering Lisbon isn’t so bad. That’s just from reading a few forum posts about it though so take it with a pinch of salt!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
