By some distance Pulp at Leeds last year, absolutely blew me away. I, admittedly, wasn't a massive Pulp fan going into it and I wasn't expecting much, but it was easily the best festival set I've had the pleasure of witnessing. This is coming from someone who is both a massive fan of Arcade Fire and The Libertines. It also came after a day where I was horribly ill and had drank nothing but water all day, their set cheered me right up and I felt much, much better afterwards.

Have had a read through this - and even though it has been 5 years since I have graced the reading field, I am surprised no one has said Muse 2002 - they subbed to the Foo's and blew them out the water!

OK, the weather had something to do with it - but it was extraordinary.

Ash had just finished on the main stage, it was beautiful sunshine, then the clouds came over, and started raining stair rods as Muse appeared on stage. They started with New Born and on the first note of the first guitar riff after the piano intro a massive lightning bolt illuminated the sky!

It continued to rain for the entire set.

As soon as they finished, the rain stopped, the cloud parted and the foo fighters were dissapointing in comparison.

My Favourite festival show EVER.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
