getting rid of a cold quickly!

I'm pathetic and weak and lame and I got a cold yesterday morning, I've taken asprin and drinking loads of tea and had showers but NOTHING else is helping.

I'm leaving tonight and I don't want to be spending the festival in my tent shivering and crying.

I knowledge that people do go to the festie in wheelchairs and with other major injuries and a girl going with a stuffy nose and complaining is a bit pathetic...

but i feel massively run down and WEAK.

help : (

Take raw garlic cloves. About 2 should do the trick, chopped just so you can swallow them. The more finely they're chopped the less affective they become. It is amazing! Works for me every time. I play in a band and just before we were about to go away to play a festival, i got an absolute stinker of a cold. Sweating, feeling week etc. Did the garlic trick and in about 24 hours the cold was almost completely gone! It works because garlic is one of the best natural immune system boosters and a powerful natural anti biotic.

Hope this helps, Happy Glastonbury :)

Garlic and LOTS of Orange juice, with added vitamin tablets, throughout the day. A bottle of whisky at night, wrap up really warm, putting the heating on, add extra blankets...you will be better in the morning.

I know the feeling, last year i felt really shitty the day before the festival and ended up feeling shit the whole festival, the sun didnt help at all.

Hoping i wouldnt be the same this year but woke up to go to work yesterday and i threw my guts ups and have been feeling pretty shit since, turns out everyone at work has it too. I dont feel as bad today and hopferlly will be alright tomorrow.

I'm in the same boat. I've been eating 2 satsumas a day, lots of orange juice/green tea and taking cold capsules every few hours. Also good to make sure you wash your hands at regular intervals to avid spreading any germs. Having a congested nose is the worst bit though, I've done everything including the head over a bowl of hot water and still no result. I'm less coldy generally though, so hopefully the worst should be over by tomorrow.

Everyone is different but I've gotten rid of a cold in a day several times.

All I do is take like 4 aspirins go to bed and wrap up as warm as you can and do not take the covers off or leave the bed for ages, just sweat it all out.... as soon as you notice the aspirin is wearing off then take more.

With a bit of luck you should be fine for tommorrow, worse case scenario just stay in your tent Wed/Thurs taking it easy and hopefully you'll be better by Fri-Sun.

Good luck

However much of a good idea it may sound - do not booze until it's shifted.

I managed to keep a cold going for two months once, by falling off the wagon every time it seemed to be improving. I had no voice for four of those 8 weeks.

Take some Beechems drinking stuff, have a "smoke" ;) and have a twoish hour nap. Should help.

I've had horrible flu like symptoms all weekend and was just taking lemsip. Did the weed approach last night and feel right as rain today :)

Also baths are better then showers when you have a cold. Relaxes the body more. Have Soup as much as possible :)
