I got back from Rockness this afternoon and, seeing as I have two festivals left this summer, made sure to bring my tent home - a cheap £20 Asda 2-man which does the job.

Anyway in my haste to get away from the miserable rain I've left the roof to the tent somewhere in the field! You know the thing sheet which hooks into the four seams?

I was wondering if anyone knows somewhere I can just buy a replacement roof sheet (or something I could use effectively as a roof), instead of getting a whole new tent (I'm so skint this month that every penny I can save is crucial!)

Someone on here will probably be able to give you one off a wrecked tent, but if not, you can make your own. The material doesn't need to be anything special - glue a square of carrier bag to a sheet of cloth and you have some non-rustling waterproof material. Curtain hooks on hairbands would do for attachments. Just tie/sew the hairbands to the cloth. If you use something bright and unusual it will make your tent easier to find.

      I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.

      Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .

      So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
