So - is it a full-blown carnivale type show with dancers and other musicians - or something a bit simpler?

Sounds like my cup of tea (or pint of pear cider), but sometimes these things can be a wee bit 'community drumming workshop', if you know what I mean.

Chase & Status shouldn't be that surprising as a booking. They've made some killer tunes and drum n' bass, dubstep etc fit perfectly well with the ethos of the stage. Electronic music has always been a mainstay of Jazz World / West Holts. I know they're very different but the band that have played that stage more than any other, with at least half a dozen performances, are Lamb.

Unlike quite a few acts in this broad field, Chase & Status know how to put on a really great live show. A big stage needs more than a couple of successful bedroom producers hunched over a laptop. This band feature perhaps the best drummer in the UK with Andy Gangadeen (Massive Attack, the Bays etc. They can also draw on an amazing selection of guest vocalists from Dizzy Rascal and Plan B to, of course, Cee-Lo Green. Probably no accident that the latter is playing straight after.

Finally West Holts generally attracts a slightly older, more muso crowd than the other main stages. If Chase & Status pull 20,000 kids who wouldn't normally venture there then maybe some of them will be persuaded to check out some of the more mind expanding acts such as Gonjasufi or the Heliocentrics with Mulatu.
