rizla ?

After reading jims interview with efests and hearing other bits and bobs, what do we think the chances of the rizla arena returning are? Sounds like the arcadia is getting bigged up this year (rightly so) with some big names lined up. Will this be at the expense of the rizla?

Apologies if its already been confirmed that rizla will be back.

afterburner gets loads of press because its at loads of festivals (glasto, bestival, rockness) and its seen as this massive concept which i dont really think is that groundbreaking although it is fun.

Rizla is 100% better during the daytime and always has good vibes and good people throughout, toddla T closing it out last year on one of the nights (i forget which!) was really enjoyable.

If anyone went to bestival when it was there they will remember how manic it always was and how much fun everyone was having there all the time! Would be really sad to lose Rizla, it shouldnt be afterburner OR rizla it should def be both!

i've a feeling this sub club tent might be its replacement tho. which sounds good but probably wont cater for stuff i enjoyed on it last yr like rob da bank, friendly fires dj set, hot chip dj and grandmaster flash

rizla is one of the best stages at rockness, i really hope it's back.

but if not i agree with rexclark that an outdoor area with seats would be good, playing chill out stuff during the day and then the usual dance riot at night. :D

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.

    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
