I'm most likely going to switch allegiance from Download to Sonisphere this year. I've seen each festival's headline acts before, although I saw Biffy Clyro way back in 2003 at the Leeds Festival, where I sat eating a Pot Noodle, not taking much interest in them. I've always felt Download had the edge for headliners in the last couple of years - for me, seeing Faith No More and AC/DC was a once in a lifetime opportunity I couldn't pass up. I felt I could afford to miss Metallica again, and indeed I was less fussed about missing Rammstein than I would have been about AC/DC.

But this year, Sonisphere blows Download completely out of the water. They've got 6 bands I'm happy with already and the draw of the Big Four to a true thrash fan like myself is too big to turn down, even though I've seen them all individually several times. It's going to be a monumental moment.

Motor homes are wonderful things - combining the freedom of the open road with the comfort and convenience of a well appointed hotel room. When one has access to a good one, one is effectively able to take one's hotel with one wherever one goes. That means adventure, discovery and comfort all rolled into one easy package. all allows holidaymakers all that freedom and all that style without any of the bad stuff that can come with actually owning a home in motors - no sudden surprises as the roof springs a leak or blows off in the night; no holidays ruined by failing kit or dodgy mechanics. The homes rented by companies like Amber Motor Homes are all regularly checked, serviced and maintained - and, for the most part, will be pretty much brand new. That means the open road can be investigated in true style, without anyone having to worry about the condition of the mobile home one is using.

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
