Thurday Night

Hi all.

First trip to Reading in 2011, usually a Glastonbury stalwart, but doing both in 2011.

Planning on getting there Thursday morning. Once in and set up, what is there to do on the Thursday? Any music on anywhere? I presume the arena is open and you can go and lounge around the bars?

Thanks for any info.

Peace & love.

Thursday night was the only real let down at Reading this year for me after a few years going to V where, as you say, get to wander around the arena, have a couple of pints of cider and maybe a luttle dance in the Strongbow tent.

There's not loads to do, we usually have a load of beer, take a massive walk all round the whole place to laugh at drunk people, get to know our neighbours about maybe have a sing with the guitar around a campfire - great fun as long as it isn't raining!

Best thing I ever took to Reading was my ghetto blaster. I used an old iPod with an iTrip to play & made plenty of playlists to save on battery life. Even got the radio on in the morning. It's brilliant for killing time in the evening & gets you going when drinking before heading off for bands or a jaunt around the site.

There's bugger all to in the evenings so be prepared to make your own fun & get talking to other campers. Otherwise follow chants of "Trolley!" to see some spectacular trolley crashes (if the Reading Police Department let any in still).

Reading is the dirtest, most disgraceful festival I have ever been to. Still go every year since 2005 even though Glasto 2010 blew it out of the water. You definitely get your moneys worth from GLastonbury.

    • Alright fair, I thought she only did BST once. Though I do question how that type of pop show will translate to a stadium.
    • yeah, but I enjoy moaning about them too much so whatever I guess.   and besides... a few years from now there will be absolutely nothing on TV except for Coben based shows so I'd best get used to it...   🙂        (for anyone who has ever read a Coben book - are the books as utterly sh*t as the tv shows???)
    • Those in the Glastonbury ‘Tour’ thread buying tickets noticed it when tickets first went on sale.   And if you look at the blocks still on sale here https://www.axs.com/uk/events/1489025/muse-tickets?skin=theo2 blocks 410-414 definitely stand out as the only seating areas without tickets available, so appears that they still haven’t gone on sale.
