I think its time to freshen up the dance village and dance music in general at Glasto next year..

Who would you guys like to see next year for some forward thinking house and techno

I'm all for a bit of nostalgia at Bezs Acid house house etc but lets get some new shit on the go!

A few names I would fancy to kick things off:

Seth Troxler

Sean Reeves

Ryan Crosson

Tiefschwarz

Loco Dice

Jamie Jones

Tania Vulcano

Si Baker

M.A.N.D.Y

Damian Lazaurus

Magda

Cassie

Dixon

Steve Bug

Any others ? :)

Ah yeah, I'm just not a fan of Troxler or JAmie Jones tbh, they're over hyped IMO! I hear you about the whole Orbital, Chemical Bros etc.

Was really disappointed with the dance lineup last year, but I had a great time in Shangri-La and heard some good techno and Bez's acid house was good fun.

I have a soundcloud alright man, check it out:

Cheers will check it out, You probably know of it already but there are some good mixes and podcasts from the DJs you mentioned over on the Resident Advisor website.

There was not a lot that I was into last year but for me the whole Dance Village in the day time thing doesn't really work that well. I just get cheesed off with people getting hyped up over the likes of Faithless and bloody orbital.

(having said that I do like a bit of prog and enjoyed sasha in the glade)

My girlfriend was a huge Sasha fan back in the day, so we went along for a bit. He sounded great so we dropped a cheeky half, 2 minutes later he started playing some awful shite, so we left!

True the Prydz remix of Faithless was nasty but you missed the big drum and bass stylee finale !

The dance village line-up was a disgrace last year IMO. I'm all for diversity within dance music but lumping in NDubz and the like gives dance music a bad name.

The people responsible for booking the dance acts need to book some new and up and coming acts. Fair enough the big dance acts are suitable for the big stages but please get rid of the pop music and book some decent acts from across the dance music spectrum.

A Cocoon night would be ace and would be a massive pull, also acts like Booka Shade, Caribou, Tiefschwarz, Chilli Gonzalez, High Contrast, Aeroplane and Casiokids are diverse enough and big enough.

Someone please get a grip of the dance village line-up this year.

Dance music does interest me and I have spent a fair bit of time in the dance village but I know very little about the different genres. I would like to see each dance tent / stage / area designated to a particular type of dance music. That way you can learn a bit more about what's what and work out which genres I prefer. Some of the tunes from Cubehenge were amazing last year but I didn't have a clue who or what they were.

It's an area of music this is increasingly interesting me but I need educating in such matters.

What a great topic although I did go to see Timo Maas the other year to see what was going down and it was DEAD! Music was shite though.

Only dance music I caught this year was from Geddes and Matt Tolfrey.

eonica..Caught Fred P for the first time last week at whp. Amazing.

I'd like to see some Parrish and Moodymann at Glastonbury.

Like someone said earlier, best idea is to get one of the established promotets to showcase one of the tents. Fabric is a good shout.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
    • Taxi mafia running their usual scam.
