OMR3
Anyone here go to the Edinburgh Festival? I was there this week, was my first time there. Went to a lot of Fringe events as well as the Book Festival. Absolutely brilliant experience. Anyone else go there this year? If so, what did you see? Here's what I saw: Comedy: Jimmy Carr Ardal O'Hanlon Emo Philips One Man Lord Of The Rings Music: The Butterfly Effect (Swedish musical collective who used bicycle wheels, skis, wine glasses, bottles and beatboxing in their music) Musical: Five Guys Named Moe (directed by and starring Clarke Peters from The Wire; most songs were swing/soul) Dance: Cape Dance Academy Book Festival: McCaig at 100- Douglas Dunn and Maggie Haggith Plus I saw some live Jazz music in The Jazz Bar, and a load of street stuff. Street stuff that was noteworthy: An amazing drummer from a progressive rock band playing not a drum kit but saucepans, saucepan lids, baking trays, an upside-down plastic pot etc. A three-piece consisting of a bagpipe player, a didgeridoo and drum player (simultaneous at times), and a beatboxer. OMR3
I wish I could have seen the Military Tattoo, but I didn't manage to get tickets in time.
