Out of interest, how much and how did you manage to save and how long did you live off it for ie how much a week did you spend from your savings? Ball park figures (or none if you think it too personal)

Well out of the two of us, one is claiming benefits he admits he doesn't need but can get away with and one isn't claiming any benefits whatsoever, so I guess you're right.

Had savings from before uni which I topped up where possible from my summer work. Worked PT during term time but didnt manage to save during that time. Lived off them for about 2 and a half months after my last loan payment.

Thanks for that - it's slightly different from saving up 3 months of savings from part time work though.

Oh but you most definitely did. And even argued that because you were entitled to it, why shouldn't you claim (and I said that you couldn't argue against that). And we had a debate about your wife's earnings because if she earned as much as you said then you wouldn't be able to claim. And we had a debate about your earnings and how much you left in the company (which was a different figure than you said earlier but we'll ignore that for now) And on the at least dozen times Ive mentioned it since, you have never challenged me on it before. Until tonight when you need to challenge it to back up the other story you made up about living off savings.

Why not wake up in the morning and just post in the life you actually live and we'll all try and not mention everything that you've made up before?

I feel bad though because my gran saved it for me.

Nah I wish I had them the now to pay off my bank debt, or go inter-railing about Europe.

Having small personal savings isn't that capitalist though is it? I'd say it's a bit smart, cause when something crops up you have it there to go for it.
