Sprinting in ticket free

Chatting to ticket-checkers on the way out to collect further supplies Thursday morning, they volunteered that one person had made it through without a ticket, apparently sprinting though the checking area. There was one security guard at the time, and he apparently couldn't catch him.

Would love to hear that someone saw this, cos am not 100% sure I was taken for a ride. Can it be that easy? Has it ever happened before, successfully or not?

Someone that was friends with my mates i was camping with managed to get in by hiding in a bag! He got in the bag and was in it for 20 minutes while his mate rolled him in, in a pull along bag! Dragged him in the middle of some tents before letting him out! said the people around him where rather shocked to see a person climb out of a bag!

I think the best thing that could of happened would be if that bag had been chosen for a random security check! security guards face would of been classic!

I saw this happen. It was on Thursday at Gate D and this guy with no top stood behind a group of people and waited till the stewards checked their tickets under the UV light. At this point he just barged past them & legged it Forrest Gump style with his chest out & shoulders back. The stewards shouted "Security", but the guy was well gone

Working campsite stewarding and we heard over the radios that some people had shoved a friend in a bag on a trolley and tried to sneak him in. Security were a little suspiscious of the bag, so they waited til this bunch of people had found somewhere to camp, and kicked the ticketless one out immediately.

bit of a bugger sprinting with a rucksack on though if you do sprint in be prepared to spend the weekend with very little kit! Or hang on this being Glastonbury i'm sure kind hearted people may help you out!

Interesting - thought they might have kicked out a few more of the group - also why wait until somewhere to camp was found? They could search anytime surely?

I was stewarding at Pedestrian Gate A - a couple of people did try to sprint through the gate at various times when I was on shift, but they were all stopped by security.

I'm informed that somebody did actually manage to get in by paragliding into the festival, I kid you not.

Vehicle Gate 5 is by all accounts quite easy to cycle through at speed if you're prepared to dump the bike and leg it!

There have been loads of stories of people getting in for free this year and I know for a fact that some people got in over the fence next to us.

It makes me think that next year it might be worth a shot. Like the old days. Yeee ha!

Last year two guys came over the fence close to our tent after fixing up a rope ladder. They came to chat to us and told us all about it. They seemed okay but after they had disappered we told security as they had left the rope ladder up there and it would probably be an invitation for all the thieving scumbags to get over and start nicking from tents.

the bag thing is a cracking idea! Really top notch. Saw someone take a wheelie bin in this year, could do the same next with someone and a crate on his head...

The paragliding incident seems fairly routine.

This is very interesting to me and my family as we found it impossible to bring in a set of plastic bowls which my pregnant daughter tried to bring in with her cool bag .They were confiscated and rejected !

My mate was saying that someone paraglided in? Landed near the observation point supposedly... i don't know if he was shitting me or not.
