Urinating Against Fences/Hedges

I guess such a drastic punishment is against the 'spirit' of glastonbury. It's a disgusting and pointless thing to do, but when people are battered they aren't exactly thinking properly.

I agree that it's no where near like other festivals, however in my opinion it's completely pointless as you're probably never less than 10mins from a urinal. The only places I saw it was by Sangri-La and the John Peel tent, less than 200m from a toilet

I generally saw fewer incidences this year, although still too many, especially along the railway track. There really is no excuse - there are loos all over the place and I hardly saw a queue this year, even in the busy spots. As good as the Green Police idea is, they're not able to really do anything - I'd support 'one strike and you're out' for this kind of pollution (and for dropping litter, tbh).

Evicting someone from the site for something so petty is a ridiculous exaggeration of force. Might as well evict people for littering.

The more urinals there are, the less of a problem it will be. A lot of the problem areas were because there were only portaloos/long drops, instating some smaller urinals in shangri-la and the railroad would significantly reduce any problems.

More urinals would definitely help this problem which I thought was much better than previous years.

I did see one guy pissing against the bins by the chill n charge tent during the day !!! he wasnt even that f**ked up either ! lazy twat.

As for eviction for pissing, I think thats just downright ridiculous.

If you're battered enough to deliberately find a hedge / fence to p*ss against, then you're not too battered to walk to a toilet. I think it is inexcusable. My boyfriend queued for some longdrops after Muse and said he was one of only about 3 blokes queueing - all the others were p*ssing into the hedge. P*ssing into a hedge NEXT to toilets?? Just because you CAN p*ss anywhere, doesn't mean you have to.... :(

I do agree with a comment made elsewhere about the toilets needing to change so as to have smaller banks of loos more often rather than huge ones a fair distance apart though.

Not having the option to piss against a fence I had to find the nearest toilets frequently and I have to say, that there were plenty of toilets around, and a couple of minutes was the most I ever had to walk.

As said before, it is selfish lazyness, nothing else. If everybody did it there would be no festival. Just like peeps who cannot be asked to use the bins. Seems to be getting worse every year.

It does happen very rarely at Glastonbury compared to other festivals. I remember rivers of piss flowing in some areas at T in the Park, and at IOW two weeks ago the fences leading up to the toilets (1 minute walk away) were all lined all evening with people pissing.

I did see quite a lot of people pissing against the walls in the urinals though when there was more than a 30 second queue for the actual urinals.

It would be too harsh to kick people off site, I think the green police do a good job because people get embarassed when they all run over blowing whistles.

to be fair I can't think of any areas on site where some additional toilets could be placed. Don't forget there needs to be running water, a large patch of space, and a road for the poo train to get through.

You might disagree with it, but to say it's pointless is completely inaccurate. It can save a lot of time. Having to walk for a long time, potentially missing some of your favourite bands, is avoidable if you piss where it's handy. Yes it's disgusting, yes it's inconsiderate, but that doesn't mean there is no point.

I remember hearing that if you were caught more than once you would be chucked out, but i dont see how this would have be inforced.

To be honest urinals were the key, it is a lot easier to piss in a urinal than in the hedge. So as there were plenty i saw very few pissing in the hedges. Could have done with some in Shangrila though

Didn't see much of it this year, except at the stone circle which as usual was severely under toiletted and crowded.

It doesn't really bother me though, and I think the effect it has on local water courses is minimal, at recent levels anyway.
