Last Minute warning about Tent thefts !

Hi everyone,

Okay we are all about to embark to our annual trip to our favourite Festie and really I don't want people here to have the same kind of bad experiences that happened to a number of people last year at Pennard Hill campsite in particular.

Quite a few tents got raided by organised thieves esp. during first couple of evenings of the Festival when people had the majority of their cash with them and were in 'Festival mood' i.e. wih security far down the list of priorities. As a result a number of people lost hundreds of pounds and this happened in and around too.

So please be very careful with your belongings esp. your cash/cards. Pro thieves know where to look in tents so please use the lockups and get peace of mind.

We camped near the park last year and a few neighbours got robbed, please be careful and sleep with all your valuables on you, don't let the robbing mother f****ers ruin your festival, have a good one folks!

A timely reminder, be careful people, it's too easy to get wrapped up in the atmosphere and forget to keep your stuff safe.

I find a messy tent is a good idea. If I cant find half my gear because of the mess what hope does a thief have! also keep everything on you. got a festival virgin with me this year so will be passing on words of widom to him

but this time I'll just go to the cashpoint daily, better to pay the small charge than lose it all

Put anything even remotely valuable in a bag and drop it off at night before you go back to your tent

doubt if that was from using the cash machines, i' say its more likely from some of the stalls that accept credit cards.. always seems a bit iffy to me

Yeah you get a ticket, I find the best way to make sure I don't lose it is to staple it to my face

try and let yourselves be known to the people camped directly around you, then you can look out for eachother.

I reckon the best tactic for anything you take is if you can't afford to lose it (ie get stolen) don't take it. Always carry valuables on you. If you can't then don't take it.

I only take phone, wallet and camera and keep them on me at all times (keys too)

Anything left in the tent, if it goes missing may be annoying but it isn't the end of the world most valuable thing in there is probably a £15 t-shirt I have had for 2 years!

if you keep your phone on you, you may want to take a picture of the ticket. Thats what the guy in the Lock Up told me to do last year. :-) They are great at the lock up, u can go back as many times as you like and they won't complain or moan.
