Tips for sleeping

Dear fellow e-festers

With 3 more sleeps to go until I leave for the Big G I have constant butterflies with excitement

At this rate I won't need my backpack, I'll be able to pack all my worldly goods in my bags under my eyes

Last night I lay awake for hours just thinking about next week, and the joy and fun and giggles Glastonbury has hiding that it's waiting to show us all

People posting arial pictures and weather threads only add to the anticipation and excitement

Tips for sleeping would be much appreciated  - how many sleeps till you leave for your G' adventure ?

If you're struggling to sleep because of too many exciting thoughts rushing around your head the best thing to do is Thought Blocking.

You can try counting cows, trying to remember and name all the bands playing on the Pyramid Stage.

You could also try relaxation techniques. Breathe in and out, slowly and deeply, and imagine that you are calm and in your favourite place in the world.

Oh bollocks, both of those strategies are going to make you think more about Glastonbury :D

Maybe try counting more boring things, like sheep, remembering and naming all the characters in a TV show, and relax by breathing deeply and squeezing and relaxing all your muscles in turn?

Amitryptiline.

I shall be using it on the bus down, which should ensure the journey flies by :-)

NB: Advice not to be taken seriously, I am not responsible if you f**k yourself up with antidepressants!

Don't go to bed before you are ready, your body will tell you when its time to sleep. Have a dark room, Lots of exercise during the day, light meals several hours before bed, dont watch telly before bed, Try and avoid alcohol () empty your head of thoughts by using relaxation techniques, if you wake, get up and go down stairs but do not watch telly, have a glass of water and a light snack then return, Make your place of sleep a tranquil one...
