Listened to it on 5live, sounded pretty awful, as if neither keeper had a save to make. Lawro was disappointed, as felt it was a game for the taking and that Liverpool could've/should've wrapped up the tie already. Heard Joe Cole made an appearance aswell and did okay when he came on, though feeding off scraps a bit, and Johnson was Liverpool's best player.

Cole was dire. Johnson was mostly dire. If he's been described as Liverpool's best player of the night (i wouldn't have named him, but i don't think I could say any of them were 'best'), then that shows how bad it was.

(One thing it proved: Johnson is a better defender on the left than he is on the right, where he played last night).

To be fair to Liverpool, it was very much a second string team (and even then Cole only made the bench as not good enough to play ), but all it proved is just how poor those second string are - to the point that they made Meireles play shit.

I can't believe that Kenny really wanted his first Euro game with Liverpool to be like that.

Yeah, would've thought Kenny would've wanted them to be a bit more ambitious in the game. Was reasonably first choice though wasn't it? Reina, Carragher, Johnson, Meireles, Lucas, Kuyt, Maxi, Aurelio. Reasonably senior.

just injuries/cup tie enforced it. eg. Gerrard, Carroll out injured, Suarez cuptied etc.
