Trial Tent Run

Just a question from a not so experienced tent putter upper...

last night me and my mum had a go of putting our 'new' 'massive' tent up in the hope that we will then have a plan of action when we arrive....

but we only put the inner tent up, and surprisingly it shot up!!!.... nice weather, no alcohol consumed!!!

should we of also tried the outer bit aswell? is this bit the hardest? because once we could see our inner tent erected, we though job done, and took it down!!!

hmmmm..... should we have one last go??

If it rains and you haven't got the flysheet up then you run the risk of waking up in a swimming pool. Give it another trial run this weekend if I were you, although last year when I did that my cat went inside it and had a piss

I personally would suggest at least one try for the complete tent if you dont know how it goes up....worst case is that you get to the site and its tipping with rain....you don't wanna be fannying around trying to figure out how to get your tent up....

Just a thought.

Off this afternoon with minidigi to have a trial run in the park - tried to put it up in our garden a couple of weeks ago but it wouldn't fit on our postage stamp of a lawn. Methinks I will seriously need the direction of our 14 year old when trying to get the bloody thing up

I had a proper dry run a week ago: I got wasted from 10am-2pm, then tried putting the tent up. Worked a treat.

Only down side, it's still up, in the garden, one of my cats has taken to sleeping in it and I have been too lazy to take it down. In order to really keep it genuine I was planning to take it down when I next have a nightmare hangover.

    • I mean I think unless you are camped in a particular bit which apparently you just get no sleep i feel it would be better setup to travel in from a hotel each day and back. Ah there is so many downfalls to it for me, I think the Download main stage area is so much better and that's coming from me. If you're camped in green to go round all the time and out for lidl and even water is stupid!
    • Did you camp or go for a hotel? I looked into it briefly and seems easy enough to get back to Nuremberg.
    • Been last time in 2018 when the festival was happening in parque Bela vista. ls the new location good for such a big festival? What's the temperature in the evening near Tejo? Should we bring a raincoat or a jacket?
