Headliner dilemma

I have never seen a headliner away form the pyramid stage. The simple reason being that I never think I will get the chance to see them again, whether it be because of the ticket price for their own gigs or that they play rarely/ miles away from where I live. Add to that the ease in which you can see headliners of the smaller stages elsewhere such as Great Escape festival etc.

I'm not ashamed of this as I have seen some amazing performances by the likes of Macca, Neil Young, Blur, Bruce Springsteen, Arctic Monkeys, and some not so good performances by Oasis, The Killers.

(I haven't seen every headliner since I started going in 2004, some nights have been spent wandering the site)

This year I really want to spend Friday night at the Park Stage for Special Guests (Miike Snow or Biffy if rumours are to be believed), Broken Bells and the XX but I know I will never get the chance to see U2 again. I'm not a major fan but a greatest hits set would appeal. Seen the flaming lips before and know they put on one hell of a show!

Anyway, point is, is there anyone else on here that has never seen a headliner away from the pyramid or maybe never seen a pyramid headliner!?

totally depends on the headliners themselves. the last thing i think of is where they're actually playing. for me (friday / saturday / sunday):

92 - other (NME) / pyramid / jazz

08 - pyramid / pyramid / pyramid

09 - john peel / pyramid / jazz

this year i'm thinking (but still undecided):

10 - pyramid / west holts / pyramid

Go with the Park, the vibe up there is always fantastic. I can't decide whether to see the F'lips (seeing them at Green Man as well you see, otherwise there would be no debate) or Mos Def. Haven't been down to JazzWorld/ West Holts for a headliner since Jimmy Cliff in '08, and that was unbelievable, but I LOVE the wonder that is Wayne Coyne beyond anything, just don't know what to do!

I'm in the same boat as this guy, i've seen u2 live, and really wanna see the xx, but chances are this'll be the only other chance i get on u2, whereas I could buy tickets for the xx with ease?

in 12 or so glastos i've once seen part of a pyramid headliner (springstein) and regret wasting my time. i much prefer the smaller stages where you can see the act and have space to boogie.

If it's an act that works for you, there can be a really special atmosphere at the Pyramid though.

I choked up to Blur. I've loved seeing Orbital there. Singing along en-masse to Radiohead was really special.

The Other Stage, on the other hand, has vibe killing properties.

I quite like the Other Stage - during the day-time. Seen some great acts there, Love and the Stands particularly stand out in my mind, but I have to agree at night time I can be hit and miss. Although both times I've seen Orbital there they were great, but Prodigy just didn't work for me, and I think a lot of that was down to the sound and the vibe.

I almost never watch pyramid headliners, to be honest. Last year didn't catch a single one, and of the 4 previous glastos I have only watched 2 (REM and...for my sins, Travis).

I will definately be catching Muse this year and had it been U2 I'd have been there also. I'd probably chose dizzee if that is the final option, even though russycarps will call me a c*** for doing so :P
