My hands are up for Fabio being a vast improvement. AND for Neil being on a wind-up.

a "vast improvement" would have England as finalists!!!

My take has England getting no further than the semi's at very most (on the basis that I've said Pat is better via subs).

It's your take that's the wacky one, not mine!

As the finals will prove! :)

Does anybody really care if Barry is fit, and he is included in the squad ?

On SSN they are saying our chances are resting on the fitness of somebody who had an awful season at City and was a £18m flop. He isnt one of the two best CM in the country. And if he is, well that really does say it all.

Yeah, cos resources within the England squad are to a minimum. More to the point, do you know anything about the way those clubs played under Capello?

For national teams, they are at a minimum. It's not like you can just go out there and get the players who play in the way you want them to play. You can only pick players from that nation, and it's not necessarily the case that the best players will make the best team - and that's England.

Nope, I know zilch about Pat in other jobs, but that doesn't stop me seeing that he's done no better with England than Sven managed.

Would this be the Sven that walked us in to every final tournament he managed us for? He's certainly done no better than that, no.

Yep, Sven "walked us in to every final tournament he managed us for", yet still had the players underachieve and showed he had little idea outside of putting the players on the pitch and telling them to play.

Pat is no different to that - tho he's more able to see how come it's not working and change it for the better. The "better at subs" thing I've already mentioned.

The problem is tho - and why I'm not seeing Pat as any better - is that he still thinks that putting out those same can't-really-do-it players again and again is going to come right, when it clearly isn't. It's still just about all the same players (don't forget, Beckham would be there if not crocked), and he's still not worked out how to play Lumpard and Gerrard, tho he's found a way to make them less bad . Etc, etc.

    • 1 - Mock Media - Rat Bastard 2 - Maquina - Body Transmission 3 - Mary in the Junkyard - Role Model Hermit   Honourable mentions to The Hu - Hun, Madonna - Confessions II, and Swapmeet - Mount Zero for also being solid.   Sadly, really didn't connect with the new Yard Act, a real shame as loved their last two albums and thought this one would be a shoe-in for AOTM, but felt it was a bit too generic..

    • I always fancied going to this one - it had my sort of lineup. Shame.
