The Local

Summer is fast approaching and all over the UK, music fans are dusting down their tents and getting ready for a fun-fuelled summer of festivals.

Being old festival-hands, we know that there’s nothing worse than a warm can of lager in the campsite when all you really want is an ice-cold, perfectly poured pint with your mates, so this summer Carling are going further to make the festival experience better by bringing this simple pleasure to thousands of music fans across the UK.

Kicking off at RockNess & Isle of Wight festivals on the 11th - 13th June, and also appearing at both V Festival sites on 21st-22nd August, 'The Carling Local' will be on hand to provide the perfect watering hole where you and your mates can kick back and enjoy all the comforts of your regular local.

This fully functioning ‘pub’ will offer campers draught beer in the campsite for the very first time ever. Complete with DJ’s, pub games and of course a perfectly poured, ice-cold pint of Carling, ‘The Carling Local’ is the place to soak up the festival vibe with your mates.

Also returning this summer, exclusive to V Festival and following last year’s storming success, The Carling Local will also see the return of the Headphone Disco. This hugely popular phenomenon is a spectacle to behold - a field full of festival-goers armed with wireless headphones, sing-a-long and compete in a silent campsite!

Fans of the Cold Beer Amnesty should rest assured as this year, the highly successful festival institution will be integrated into ‘The Carling Local’, ensuring that punters will still be able to swap their four-packs of lager for ice-cold cans of Carling. Stock will be limited so get there early!

Nah there will just be one

It was there last year too, but they're expanding it this year it seems.

Last year I saw it on the Friday when arriving but couldn't find it again ha ha, it wasn't at the bottom of the campsites where the stalls all run along, it was smack in the middle of where all the tents were! A different location to where Carling have set up in the past

Is this the same bar place that's amongst the stalls near Red Camp at Weston Park? Because you can never get in there anyway, like the Strongbow place it's always too full.

    • Lovely Brexit doc on bbc2 for anyone who wants to relive those golden years.
    • I think some folks are underestimating how many millennials, now into heavier music, were genuinely also into things like techno and happy hardcore in the 90s and early 00s. Scooter may be about is commercialized as it gets when it comes to happy hardcore and techno, but for many, they won't be just a 'silly act' they will be a genuine nostalgia act.
    • Can anyone share please as can’t access the app
    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
