I was hoping they'd be there and I'm really surprised that they're not. One of the most successful British bands over the last 12 months and equally, one of the most highly rated albums of the last 12 months, with their new album (and arguably the preceding one) their sound has gone a lot more mainstream.

If there was anytime for them to be at Glastonbury, this is it. Seemingly at the height of their fame - by next year we could've forgotten all about them, but a good slot this year could really have seem them boosted to the next level à la Kasabian last year.

Shame they're not playing - I'd like to see them play some stuff from their new album, I think it's top.

Ah well - you can't win them all. They'll be back one day.

I don't want to sound like Mr negative but I'm not really sure about this band from what I have heard.

All my mates love them though so maybe I need to give their less mainstream stuff a listen to. Any tracks in particular that I should be steered towards? Cheers x

I don't confess to be a huge Biffy fan, or to know that much about them, but what I gather is their earlier stuff was a lot heavier than their last two albums - the last two being their most commercially successful.

As a result, they never play anything other than tracks from the last 2 albums which pisses off their more loyal fans.

2 of my mates are obsessed with them, but personally I find their earlier stuff too heavy and not all that great. I much prefer their newer stuff, but I see why people would get a bit miffed that they never play the early stuff for the fans who were there first and supported them before they made it big.

Didn't they play in both 2007 and 2008? Let's have a biffy break lest Glastonbury become like every other festival in the country with Biffy on rotation every year

I loved their first two albums, but after that they've just turned into a Diet Foo Fighters with prentensions of grandeur and I've tuned out.

Also gone off them as people since they slagged off Beggar's Banquet for releasing a Best Of to "capitalise on our recent success"

Huh, that would be the same Beggar's Banquet who released your first three albums at a loss when your new major label offshoot would've dropped you. I think they're allowed to capitalise on your success frankly.
