That's exactly what they do. Get pigeons to fly to the BBC centre with the days footage and let the workers at the BBC sort through it and pick out all the best bits. Trust me I know.

I see. I gather all they were able to find was pigeon shit last year after they ate most of the tapes, so they gathered what they could, enhanced the shit and broadcasted it under the title 'Kasabian live at Glastonbury 2009'.

Technology in the 21st century is astonishing.

:P

The Bruce Springsteen set was just as bad. If not worse. I've never been that bored in my entire life.

Dam mate that must have been hard. At least you'll be back this year though! (Does it help sypmathy wise by me saying that my dad insisted that I had to stay there even though there is a band that I really wanted to see elsewhere?)

No it doesn't. Grow a pair!! :P:P

Seriously though - and putting the thread back on topic - Glasto is one of the only places that I genuinely have no problem going anywhere on site on my own if I really want to see something, and I always end up nattering to some complete random.

Luckily, my friends know this, so they understand I refuse to stand around watching something I don't like.

Whats the fuss about???

You change from being one of those people who say I would love to go to Glastonbury

To being one of those people who has been & also experienced a little of how great life could really be.

At other festivals you may meet people

At Glastonbury you meet, talk & become friends & meet up with them year after year.

Your life will change for the better, I stopped taking my career more seriously & actually chilled out & found something else to do way more better & exciting.

You can have a piss stood next to someone in a band or tv celeb, everyone is the same.

Bands go to other festivals by helicopter & fly straight back out after their set, at Glastonbury they seem to hang around all weekend.

V, Leeds, Reading, TITP etc etc etc are a Ricky Gervais movie, pick anyone!!!

Glastonbury is The Office

Glastonbury IS what civilisation should be!!!!!

Glasto!!! One of the few places that you can go without washing for a few days, and still get laid!! It's that good!

You can be best friends with someone for a few hours and not require drugs for it to happen.

Brothers pear cider doesn't actually taste that great at home, but Glasto makes it taste like going down on Beyonce!! Over and over again.

I can actually talk about the bars and the food and stalls for ages without actually talking about what music I've seen.

Glasto is the only place on earth where Scenesters, Nu Ravers, Goths, Emo's, punks, mods, hippies, Indie Kids, trendies, and poppies will find that singing along to Rolf Harris is de riguer.

07...very wet yes...but perfect wet because it kept the mud moving and the ground sodden which is at the end of the day what you want if the festival has to deal with large constant quantities of rain. You either have to have the water squished out by feet and the addition of sun/heat to create hardness again or keep it very moist so you can move easily through the stuff.

My memory of 07 was on Sunday night, leaving (I think) the Cabaret tent, not all that late - maybe 1:00, in the absolute pissing rain, being barely able to lift my feet out of the squelchy, slippery mud for each pace. Struggling not to fall over. And getting rained on.

The seeing the Pyramid field, post-Who, a sea of abandoned chairs and debris, with the rain coming down in sheets.

I was so scarred (having survived 97 with sanity intact) that I skipped Glastonbury 2008. My crowd decided that Bestival would be a better idea. I mean, September's always drier than June, right?

Bestival 08 saw stages being closed because there were rivers of mud flowing through them. :P

Aaah...its all about the SLIDE! You remember the Monkees?

Walk like them through the mud...ski feet stylee. Once you master that...wet Glastonbury mud is your friend. Its not a question of ever lifting your feet...skate/glide/slide...simples :P

Wearing walking boots helps too. Wellies...these can come off if you put a foot wrong.

I am a Doc wearer.

You couldn't slide in the 07 mud. At least, not in that area near the Cabaret tent, by the concrete bridge, which is what's imprinted on my mind forever. Once your foot was in, the only way it was coming out was vertically, with lots of effort and a big squelchy sound.

<shudder>

    • My wife works for a music company, they have an allocation already.  They run a ballot for it early next year.
    • This is my guess too.    2028 festival breaks the £400 barrier.
