Cant sleep tonight... So in prep for Glasto what are your sleeping tips?

I know, sorry :P I must hold the record for hijacking threads on this forum ... don't mean to.

Its a difficult one. Normally the country air, full belly, pissed, stoned etc.. should work a treat, but because there's always so much going on, and you kind of become nocturnal a day in, its really hard.

But some good tips coming this way. I can't do all the proper bedding stuff. Always have too much to carry as it is, and do quite like my sleeping bag and little camping sheet.

I think being clean makes a difference as well, if you're trying to cosy on down and your feet feel rank and you're a bit sweaty then it aint gonna happen! Give yourselves a quick wipe down to freshen up first as well.

Peace x

i find it difficult to get to sleep in general, anywhere. but i can honestly say that i slept better and easier at glastonbury last year than anywhere else and that includes my house!

after all the walking, dancing, smoking and drinking, come 4am you'll just crash out. then you'll feel fresh(ish) at 9am ready to do it all again.

don't worry about ear plugs or any of that nonsense, you won't hear anything. you'll be out as soon as your head hits the pillow/floor.

She started it but I was happy to carry it on......anyway we were not the only ones talking sh!te on this thread.

Indie, would a Reeves and Mortimer style fryaing-pan effort help?!? :P

One side-related tip too. Go to bed with enough on, else you may wake up in the cold of the night feeling.....cold.

Probably only applies to those of us who don't invest in decent sleeping bags mind. :P

It would appear all the excitement of today has left me bereft of the clutches of Morpheus...

However at Glasto I have a set of BA first class eye cover things

Some Health and Safety, Ramp approved ear plugs

I also take my pillow from home and my duvet...

This may sound extravagant but since I have been doing this, a good night (not strictly night, more morning) sleep is to be had...

What are your choices for that elusive four hour kip and mind recharge?

Oh and a pee bottle is a must.

However this year I am doing something I hope nobody else will be doing and that's coming pre plumbed with a catheter... yes drinking competitions where "first to the loo" are the rules are mine for the winning..Mooohahaha :P

My optimal sleeping pattern tends to be 5-10am every day... but all that goes out the window when I have my obligatory all-nighter at some stage during the fest - usually the Saturday, so I can sit and chill on Sunday, catch a few bands but miss all the novelty cack they wheel out for the locals.

Sleep! What's wrong with you people! Hehehe :P

I always find a decent airbed some ear plugs and some valium to be just the ticket.

Alternatively though, 750mls of good sipping tequila is enough to close the lids on even the most resiliant of persons

    • It would be piss-easy for a bot to manage, though.
    • I've heard that ticket sales for other events that use the same system have included the question 'are you still there?' on each window/browser you have with a place in the queue. If you don't confirm you are, it'll assume you're not and that place will drop.   I've no idea if Glasto/See will adopt this, but it would be challenging to keep on top of with many windows open.
    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
