I eat out during the day but still need a few strong coffees and a bit of breakfast to get me started.

Best investment I ever made was a little Gelert toaster to go on top of a gas burner.

It folds flat, weighs virtually nothing and takes up little space. And when you get a toast factory going everyone loves it. Toast and maramalde, toast and Marmite. We even had toast and home made smoked mackerel pate last year.

Breakfast at Glastonbury goes as thus

Wake up

Start kettle boiling

drop a tablet of sainsbury's knock off berrocca into some water

sit with head in hands thinking "What am I doing with my life? Why do I do this to myself?"

neck fake berrocca

drink tea

eat 7 oggies

nail cider

Now then, campers. I need recommendations for a proper, decent, no-frills English fry up at Glasto. The following must be incorporated:

Fried Egg

Bacon (none of that crispy shit - the real deal - juicy bacon)

Sausage

Beans

Mushrooms.

Anything else is an added bonus.

Any advice? I want a serious vein-clogger here - I love a good fry up.

Got a really nice sausage and bacon sandwich with a drink for £6 near the other stage. Got totally ripped off buying the smallest bacon and egg sandwich for £5 near the pyramid stage. It was my own fault I should of known better but was being lazy. I am planning a lot of eating in green fields and jazz world this year. :P

Cockmill Meadow's little secret: The Street Sub Aqua Cafe. Top notch English, because that's all they do, 24 hours a day.

Family campers will of course know them, but if you're in Big Ground or Kidney Mead, you might find it worth the short stroll.

Last year I was camped up at the farm, but always made a little detour on my way into town to get my fill, washed down with a pint of milk for 50p and a coke for not much more. Nom nom. :P

Personally, I see nowt wrong with one of those four quid brekkie baguettes from the stalls twixt pyramid and John Peel.

But thats usually cos I can't face breakfast until I've walked down the hill, and by the time I get there I can't face going any further without a heart-attack in a bun.

The current Lady Stradmor raves about The Orchard Pig.

Breakfast of champions is a line of your favourite horse tranquiliser, a can of special brew and a lie-in.

Pity I don't really compete anymore.

Nowadays, I'm gasping for large non-greasy breakfast so that I can hold on to some sort of normality for the day. Add to that a litre of water within the first hour of waking.

Then it's time to get lean.

    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
