As others have said the Sunday night atmosphere is incredible, it's the last chance to party, and everyone makes the most of it. Often the Sunday has been the best night for me.

Luck has a massive part to play in getting out. Last year I left about 9ish, figuring that it would take me 2 hours or so to get out, but not so. The steward waved me through almost straight away and I got out of the car park in 20 minutes.

Only trouble is I was opening a bag of mint imperials when this happened and I was so startled I dropped half the packet on the floor. Gutted.

I have, however, been stuck in the car park for hours. I recommend stocking up on water, smokes, and getting an audio book to pop on. It keeps you awake and its good to wind down to. Last time I had Jurassic Park. This year will be The Death of Bunny Munro by Nick Cave.

If you are leaving late on Sunday night / Monday morning about 3am be careful as the car parks shut. Some friends of mine were stuck in the car parks on the other side of the road of the west car parks. She was not happy as the carpark did not open till 7am.

Ive been debating this for a while now. Ive been the last 2 years, got my licence 2 days after getting back last year, and this will be the first time driving. So im kinda wondering what time to leave ect. Ive already told myself that i want most things packed in the car sunday before the music starts. I'll be leaving some easy clothes in the car for the drive back along with plenty of water and snacks. By the looks of what most people are saying i wanna find out where the exit will be and move my vechile when we pack the car. And i suppose thats the best i can prepare myself for leaving. I suppose the rest will be decided by my passengers.

I left after Blur last year as it seemed like a good idea at the time, after an hour on the road I was more or less asleep at the wheel, as was the other driver. We stopped at the services for half hours power nap & woke up 41/2 hours later. Think ill just wait til the Monday lunchtime this year...

we try and get a few hours kip and be on the road at about 5am, usually get straight out and then pull in to a service station on the motorway and sleep for a few hours there. couldnt imagine the madness of trying to leave at 9 or 10am.

rather amusingly we parked the car next to a grass hill in the service station and had a sleep on the grass. one of the lads was flat out so we pushed the car 50 yards and hid it behind a few more cars. his face when he woke up and thought we'd nicked off and left him 300 miles from home with no cash was a picture !

Have lets at midnight on the sunday once before....never again! Spent the day thinking about when to go instead of enjoying it. Saddest thing in the world leaving your favorite place before its finished. Plus there's the whole who's going to drive/not drink/stay straight thing.

However what we have done is to wander down to the car sunday day time and check where the exits are then move the car to be nearer them. Have never been stuck for longer than an hour that way.

ok good point, it is very sad to see the state the place is in on Monday morning, a bit like those all night raves like Tribal Gathering once the sun starts to come up. Either way its bad leaving so at least going Monday means you don't waist any of Sunday.

Left on Sunday night first year I went and would never do it again, It is much too dangerous to drive at night after a long day (and several prior days) without much rest, I was virtually asleep at the wheel even though I stopped at the first services for a while, you'll get off the site quickly and the roads are quiet but I personally would wait until Monday.
