This would be a decent opening announcement

It would be it definately 100% won't happen sadly.

The Strokes are only doing Isle Of white and Rockness, Soundgarden would be higher, Libertines aren't reforming this year and I very much doubt The Cure would play.

Apart from that it's bang on. :P

I've questioned it myself a few times but why are people still so convinced that The Cure would play the NME?

If they would have, it would have been last year and that would have been a massive move by them considering every festival they have played in the last 20+ years, they have headlined in the Uk, Europe and the USA.

Yeap, they won the NME godlike genius award but they are/were/would have been by far the biggest band to win the award and then headline the NME stage. If they hadn't won the award then people wouldn't even been talking about them as far as Reading was concerned.

If they were going to play they would headline mainstage, no doubt about, the trouble is they won't be booked because they haven't had a great selling album for some time. That WOULD be good a good announcment, not The Libertines.

Oh and I think Arcade Fire will headline, it seems a strange move (IMO) but I think they will be up there and possibly headlining Glasto next year depending on the success of their next album.

It's because they're roughly a quarter of the band they used to be, in terms of quality of releases, and public interest.

Either way. This line-up is daft from the get go, we know the headliners aren't Libertines or The Strokes, so I don't know why we're debating it.
