Party at Glastonbury

Just start singing Happy Birthday - it'll be a ridiculous number of people joining in as long as you're not too secluded. Nobody can resist singing Happy Birthday. Hopefully Flaming Lips will play that day too for their own rendition of it.

Its very nice on the hill up behind The Park, right near CT and good view over the area, also green fields and healing fields are very chilled, should be plenty of people at CT who will want to join in, you just need to make sure her and her friend don't read efestivals in anticipation of the event ? :P

It's gotta be at the Band Stand, nice & close to the Cider Bus enough space & you could probably get the band playing at the time to sing Happy Birthday. There's a stall nearby (near the Tor Rugby Club, may even be them,) who do Trifle! You could pre order a couple of big trifles & a load of spoons. :P

Or get her to go up the Ribbon Tower while a whole load of folk sing Happy Birthday to her from below. :P

Main problem is organising anything at Glastonbury....... :P

Hi chaps,

My lovely daughter turns 18 on the Sunday at the festival. I am hoping to have the full day off work so we can get a little trollied, but I was wanting to set up a little birthday party (with jelly and cake etc) for her. After party time is her own, as she don't want an old sod like me cramping her style.

I will put this in the MFG but I was wondering if anyone would help/attend. I have told her she has to camp at CT, but I will be elsewhere, and it would be nice to find a random spot to surprise her.

I want to make a fuss as she has decided she wants to live with me, and I want to fuss a bit :P

    • A name I didn’t think of. Maybe too big though. Think he’d go down very well despite being quite controversial.
    • Oh bummer, got excited then 😂   Although if I had read all the way down it would have been a bit of a give away, no other festival will book both of those 😂
    • I think the age of tickets flying out day one for a lot of artists is drawing to a close now, especially with the prices.   There will be exceptions of course, I was surprised how quickly Phoebe Bridgers sold out
    • Tbf they sold out the mainland European shows that follow this UK tour more or less immediately so I guess much of Europe will be stadiums for them next summer regardless and they might want to bring any stadium bespoke production here, even if it's just one night at a London stadium or whatever.    I like the new album and wanted to see them again but £150 for a standing ticket is ridiculous and all the sub-£100 price categories sold out. So you know, would like to go but guess I'm waiting for any last minute dropouts. Tbf I would hazard a guess of these 4 UK shows in November that more tickets are sold than unsold and by the time of the show it'll be, if not a full house, close enough.
    • I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility    It would feel like a bit of waste for their first set in the UK for 12 years be an hour and 10 mins as a sub    A lot of people will buy day tickets just for FNM
