Cant see it myself

I think (completely my own thoughts i have no insider info) that T in the Park would have paid big bucks for Eminem, the sort of money Glastombury wouldnt pay (let alone for someone who wasnt headlining)

As for Jay-Z if hes in the country on the Glasto weekend i could certainly see him doing something. Maybe a stripped down set somewhere, The Park for instance.

He seems to really hold the festival in high regard and i think it did open a lot of doors for him in the UK

Just my thoughts

i think inviting that homophobic prick to glasto would be a mistake

he's hardly about peace and love now is he.

having said that, im going to see in hyde park (if he plays) just to see the 'show' but dont think he's big G material

maybe theres a backward homosexual hating country that would welcome him to a festival instead? :P

I was in that crowd. Some c**t set fire to their Q Daily and threw it at us. I hated their set. But I don't like hip hop so I'm probably the worst person to judge it!! :P

Jay-Z was a good booking for the festival - brave, but original. And the discussion on these boards was hilarious.

But Eminem? F**k right off - I couldn't think of anyone who was further away from the whole ethos of the festival.

I'm not sure this is the sort of discussion it's a clever idea to get into on the internet but I don't that necessarily proves he is racist. He is a fairly hateful person all round but mimicking an accent doesn't automatically make someone racist or was the black American comedian I saw who was mimicking a posh upper class English accent a racist. You can certainly draw a parallel between comedy and Eminem's lyrics as they are so often laced with sarcasm and parody.

Plus some of his best friends are black...

I don't really want to be defending him though so we can agree he is a fairly unpleasant character not really in keeping with the festival.

The way he talks in his videos and raps in this songs in that fake indian accent that he puts on obviously shows that he is an immature racist. I know he doesn't say stuff like "DIE NIGGAS DIE!" in his songs but it's the subtle racism that I really don't like, the immature racists who put on fake indian accents, it really grates on me. I know i'm sounding like Phil here but that's just one of my pet hates.

    • and still twenty one pilots must have a very persuasive management team, unless they are still rearranging the schedule, still seems really odd.
    • Phew, been waiting a while for a statement like this.     Well at least a few days since the last one

    • The only number I can find is 90k, but it doesn't really break it down in the way you're asking so it is up in the air in that regard. My only thing here is that I don't think Leeds is in danger or is flagging in sales. I thought last year had an awful lineup so I opted out but apparently a hell of a lot of people decided to go, so I really do believe it is just us lot all being out of touch with what the modern R&L audience wants.   I do think this year has a good lineup although I know a lot of people on here disagree with that, so I am gonna be there and we shall see what it is like on the ground this year in terms of attendance.
