Plus I like all the other themes too. :P

+1 for a show of Acts who opened the festival

+1 for the 'Covers Show' (I like that suggestion of playing the original then following with a cover, if I ever do a show I had this in mind meself)

+1 for a Glade show.

Either Glade Festival or the Glade stage @ Glasto.... Or combo of both

+1 for Trash City/Arcadia/Shangri la show.

Would be some obscure acts, but some TSU favs like Dreadzone & Zion Train.

Plus also some legends like Fatboy Slim & Madness spring to mind from that area of Glasto pre Arcadia.

how about a "guess the year" show. start out by playing people who have played many times over (therefor difficult) and then make it more obvious as the show rolls on, eventually moving onto the headliners at the end. try and throw in a couple of live tracks from whichever year you choose if possible.

Obscure and eclectic is good ;-)

But yes, like you say, also some well established acts like Orkestra Del Sol and don't forget Afrika Express was up there last year...

I know Continental Drifts organised some of the stuff on at Club Dada last year as that's who my friends band were booked by.. so if you pursued this show you could try speaking to them? ... just a suggestion.

FYI I know Trans Siberian March Band who played Club Dada last year have 5 free tracks on their website for download that you could use :P

Thanks, that's the stuff. I think me sourcing the music for that show in particular could be challenging, but am off now to grab the TSMB music.

Full 2009 line up here if you hadn't seen it:

I'd just have a crack at checking out their web/my spaces and asking for a track.. not many are so big they wouldn't appreciate the airplay ;-)

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
