They have a new album out in May, and were pretty much a Festival favourite in 2008, I was surprised enough when they announced gigs at Arena's, what do you think the chances are for V this year, I would pretty much piss my pants if they did announce, is this wish ful thinking.

I would be happy if any of the following are announced, Arcade Fire, Florence, Delphic, Editors, Doves, Faithless, International One, Massive Attack, Journey and I think for a bit of cheese Cheryl Cole and Black Eyed Pea's so she can do that I love you thing with thingie

How about a couple of cans of special brew?

I would love to see Arcade Fire (and meet 'Lippy as he's one of the funniest on here) but I think they are too different for what V does, which stage could they put them on and who could they follow them with? Also if they headlined there'd be a lot of pop kids trying to figure out who the hell they were / possibly only knowing Keep The Car Running / No Cars Go and looking lost when they play Neon Bible or Black Mirror.

They alomst got Seasick Steve last year and have had the likes of Martha Wainwright, Newton Faulkner I think anything is possible when artists are promoting albums, Regina said on their own Arcade Fire thread that the new album was finished but had some touching up to do

Yep, it looks like it is.

We're still checking things out, but it looks very unlikely that they'll be at V.

Yeah thanks for that :P

Another thought as well, maybe their album and any tour would be on hold anyway with the earthquake in haiti, Regine originates from Haiti doesn't she and they raise funds at their gigs, maybe they will be concetrating their efforts elsewhere this year.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
