Also, I didn't know Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory wasn't a great success when it came out.

Also, on the note of how do you know where he added things. It was his idea for Willy Wonka to come out with a walking stick and a limp at the beggining and then to do a roll and jump up. He added it in because it meant you could never tell from then on if he was joking or being serious.

Great comedy actor, I have to say my favourites were the ones he did with Richard Pryor.

Richard Pryor helped write Blazing Saddles but ended up doing most of the Mungo jokes, whereas Brooks wrote the Sheriff Bart stuff. Still my favourite comedy of all time.
