Do neighbours complain about the rustling? or attempt to destroy it in frustration? The space blankets sound like a great idea, but every time it's mentioned it isn't long before someone complains about the noise. Is it really that bad?

Just wondering if its worth a try or if my neighbours will turn from peaceful campers to an angry mob after a 5 days of rustling :P

When the tent is so hot you wake up, then get up and start enjoying the festival! Coffee & Bacon time in my book.

In our tent, the noise (farting) and smell (stale booze and farting) was far, far less tolerable than the heat. Don't think some bloody foil blankets would sort that out.

they certainly did when we used them.

we had a 3 man tunnel tent and draped then over each section between the poles adn clipped them on.

in fact the more i think about it the more of a difference they made. and if you clip them on with enough clips to pull em tight they dont rustle at all

That was my next question... my tent's got three external poles so depending on the width of the blankets it should be quite easy to clip on. Do they help at all blocking out a bit of light or is it better to just use an eye mask thing?

yep, the tent is nice and dark. we'll make a better attempt this year of covering the sleeping area - tightly to minimise rustle - however, we were gagging for a cider by the time we'd clipped it on, so it was a bit of a rush job!

    • Remain self-imposed on not going north of a hundred, but... we're getting to the point now where the starting gun will be above that for some acts.
