DL Confirmed Capacity Increase!

Think it'll be for the combination of AC/DC, Metallica & the rest of the bill. I fully expect a lot of people to travel from abroad for this line-up. When I saw AC/DC in Manchester last year there were people from all over who'd made the trip. We were offered £300 each for our standing tickets. If there's any truth to Andy's post about them playing Back In Black in it's entirety to mark it's anniversary also there's another gimmick/selling point. Add to that the fact that the average DL attendee is older than that of say R&L or V and it means they also have more disposable income. If the leaked self confirmations are true, from looking at other festivals rumoured headliners I expect DL to be the daddy this year.

So glad we got our early bird tickets : )

They wanted to increase it last year too but were only allowed to increase day tickets. Think it will stay at this number from now on. Even though ac/dc are a huge selling point they are playing other euro fests so i dont think it will have that great an effect but download always gets people from europe coming over doesnt it?

I think the 110,000 capacity is also the reasoning behind the early entry ticket 110,00 in 1 day is gonna be tough but spread over 2 days should be more manageable although i do feel sorry for the 1s who dont get early entry at Leeds last year there wasnt much space come the end of the early entry day nevermind the following day

I will actually get to experience what it would have been like to be at MOR in the 80's AC/DC playing to 110,000 people at Donington i never though i'd see that without a time machine. Its a shame the stage isn't still within the track it sends chills down my spine when i see everyone on the hill in the Paradise city vid.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
