All the rumblings I've heard point towards them playing Download.

On a different note, I have a feeling Reading might book Kiss as Sunday headliners. I know it sounds mental, but they would command a headlining slot due to the size of their live show, they're playing rock am ring and other European fests, but played download too recently and don't look like playing Soni, there arena tour dates are early may so it's feasible for them to return at the end of the summer, they're still relevant because they are still heavily referenced in pop culture (family guy, role models, rock band/guitar hero to name a few), and they've recently released an album.

I'm not even a fan of their music, but they're worth seeing live. Slipknot are supposed to be around next summer too, but Soni don't seem to have them booked (I could be wrong). I think they could well play under Kiss.

Some insane ideas in this topic. Kiss? Led Zeppelin? :P Fo' real?!

I think the Sunday headliner will be a band that appeals to the "heavy" crowd but might not necessarily be a metal band or a particularly old band. In that sense, I think the two likeliest bands at the moment are Foos and Green Day.

As I say though, they could do what they did this year and sack the heavy Sunday off. Blink 182 keep getting predicted to headline the Friday so why not just make Friday the heavy day (like this year, minus KOL and Kaisers, basically)? It would be convenient considering the stiff competition not just from Download, but now Sonisphere as well. That way the choice for bands headlining the Sunday won't be limited, and they could get some mighty fine catches such as R.E.M., Oasis (if they choose to continue of course), The Who, maybe even someone like Bruce Springsteen.

Looks like Sonisphere have got Rammstein and Iron Maiden. Download rumours do not seem to include AC/DC. There's been a quote in Classic Rock (I think) that they are playing festivals next summer.

Surely there must be a chance of this?

I no its not the original guns n roses, but i'd love them to play, one of the first bands I really liked, Blink and MCR I wouldnt be so keen on though, but im sure they'd draw a crowd.

They need to change or they will lose the appeal, The festival will still sell out but for how long? They need to start attracting the real music fans back instead of the trend followers.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
