tilt
No way in hell does he DJ from pre mixed CD's. He uses a lot of hot edit points on the CDJs and produces most of his own edits. He's the real deal.
tilt
as opposed to the 'true art' of live mixing....

pinback
I saw him dj between the bands at Muse's Wembley show. He set himself up in the middle of the stage like he was an actually act people wanted to see. He played 3 Foo Fighter songs in about 20 minutes, and at one point he'd left the crossfader in the middle and you could hear over the Wembley PA him cueing the next track. I find it very hard to like the man. His interviews are just sycophantic arse kisses; I heard him interview Rival Schools when he was on Xfm and they were talking about all these hardcore bands they liked and he was all like "OMG I LOVE THAT BAND" when it was very clear he had no idea who they were. His whole "NEW MUSIC" schtick when he's just pushing whatever the latest hype is and "lending" hsi vocal services to the ads for those band's records. But I'm probably just jealous because I run an indie night and London and whilst people complain about paying £2 to come in, he does the same thing as me and gets paid £10k odd a pop. The bastard! dawlishmonkey
not a fan of the whole man plays other mans records thing but saw ZL before muse and he was excellent so much so that we hung around after plan b last year to watch him again, this time he was shocking.same tunes I think.you can knock his show and his style but he does give new bands an airing that they don't normally get so fair play

Jason447
Zane Lowe is not a patch on this guy.
the_arsonist
i saw him on that 'dj hero' tour he did late last year (against my will btw) and i watched him. he only played off one cd, didnt even use a second deck. the man is an absolute disgrace imo fronting as a dj, there are a hundred other more talented artists that i hope fill any slot he may have

Dan R
I have no idea how good he is as a dj skill-wise, but find his show utter shit, hate the fact I have to put up with it while waiting for festival announcements. Saying that though, he did a set at Sheffield Uni for freshers and it was one of the most fun dj sets I've seen, and most people there seemed to agree.
