The 4th Plinth at Glastonbury?

You may be aware that the Antony Gormley project entitled One & Other situated on the 4th Plinth in Trafalgar Square has recently come to an end. No fewer than 2,400 participants spent an hour alone on the empty plinth in Trafalgar Square for 100 days and nights. The project became the subject of countless photos, blogs, tweets and newspaper articles and quickly became part of the cultural fabric of the UK.

I think the festival organisers should give serious consideration to adopting a similar project for next year’s festival. They could even commission the same company to produce it. With regards to the actual participants then perhaps they could invite the top 150 ‘plinthians’ to repeat their performances for the benefit of everyone at Glastonbury. See www.oneandother.co.uk for me details.

What is there not to like?

Hmm, really, little bit of an overstatement? I heard about it before it started but saw absolutely no media coverage during or after
