carlsberg would be the logical choice if it did happen, but its a moot point, its not gonna happen.

simple fact is it will be shown somewhere, even if its just in little places dotted around the site. anyone who is that bothered bout seein the game will be able to. personally id love to see the game, but there is a strong chance im gonna love to see a band/act at the same time which in all likelyhood (even though im a HUGE football fan) will get my attention. im jus gonna sky+ the game and watch it when i get home. wont be the same as seein it live ofc, but balls to it, will be a great way to chill when i get home (assuming we win ofc) :P

Is there a place that can hold 50,000 people plus the screens, toilets, bars ect.. Not saying there is not the space but I would be surprised that it has not been used before. The only real space left would be one of the car parks say W26 but is a long walk for any one from the east side and adds extra walking to most on the west side. The cost is something that would have to be looked at extra fencing or it all done on pass outs. Below are the world cup sponsors who would you choose?

The combination of the slopes above The Park and Pennard Hill are a similar acreage to the Pyramid stage.

So, yes - there is somewhere that can hold that number of people.

There are 3 bars in the Park (Stonebridge, Park, and a smaller independent). Toilets, screens & PA would have to be added.

I've no idea whether those slopes will be used, but I am certain that the plan is to show the football.

There won't be 50,000. There were only that many on the Thursday last time because there was nothing else on. Also - it has already been said that Flatopia has similar acreage to The Pyramid so there it is anyway.

I saw it and was going to edit it, but my cursor keeps doing this mad thing of going for a little lie down at the edge of the page and it makes posting in the first place a bit of a nightmare so I really couldn't be arsed.

Anyway - stop deflecting from the fact that i came up with the solution about 3 pages ago! You nlot are just determined to keep arguing!

...but in the same hand people continue to buy t-shirts with 'made in China' on them, buy Coca Cola from burger vans that also supply burgers that going by the taste could be made of all manners of things except cows and will take all manners of drugs that have a high chance of being connected to organised crime and all the baggage that goes with it.

Don't personally see the difference, a whore is a whore :P

Good point well made...

Ok, after reading some more I think the idea of a world cup / cinema area could be a goer. However I don't think it will be allowed OUTSIDE the fence. And I would be surprised if they got a WC partner to sponsor it.

Reckon if they uped the parking to more sensible level (£20-£25?), this would free up some space to have a venue? Would perhaps mean moving the fence slightly, is the fence a permanent feature, or is it put up for the festival?

oh yes please!

please let me pay more for my parking ticket to appease a bunch of braying nincompoops who are obsessed with seeing grown men chase around a glorified inflated pigs bladder for 90 minutes.

I cant think of anything I'd like to spend my money on more!

Maybe Eavis can get all fans who want to watch the match to get one of those flags that attach to their car bonnets. Then the stewards could direct them to a specific field. Except the field has a sudden drop one hundred feet deep and all the cars and occupants fall into it.

Problem solved.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
