I guess that I'm really going to my first Glastonbury now!

The confirmation e-mail showed up a while ago.

(Now all I need is a plane ticket...train ticket...backpack...etc, etc, etc...)

Sorry to those of you who didn't get tickets, hopefully you can find a way to still snag one at some point.

Yet again, most of my lazy useless friends didn't get one, when they've been saying since this time last year they will. Still, me and the girlfriend have tickets, and a few others too, so it's all good.

I live about 15 minutes from Disneyland in California....(easiest landmark, because everyone knows that place...lol)

This is sort of a big deal for me.

Next May I turn 50.

When I was a kid I always wanted to get a Eurail pass and knock around Europe for a month or so....I never got the chance.

So I decided a couple months ago that in honor of my 50th year on the planet, I'd act like I was half my age and make a plan to just go do that...backpack, stay in hostels....travel very differently from my usual trips...Then to cap it off, I decided to go to try to go to Glastonbury as a big finish!

So, now it's looking like a couple weeks on the rails in mid June, capped off by five days in a Somerset field doing something that I wanted to do since I was a kid.

I'm already counting the days...

I really don't understand people who say they want to come, then don't bother to even register nevermind getting up at 8:30am on a Sunday, and then have the nerve to complain about their lack of ticket despite me badgering them to be more organised...

Agree, theres a fair bit of 'I want to go, its my divine right' on here. Sorry for all people with internet / bank problems but you can help yourself by gettin up early and having all in the group going for it instead of just 1 person!

Seetickets f**ked it up for me. Was trying for agges. Eventully get through and it tells me that why registration number has been used to book a ticket already. Im like, quality ive got my ticket then. So off to work i go and come back to see ive still not got a confirmation number and no outstanding orders. Thanks See.

I have a theory...

Up until See showed it as SOLD OUT. the See site was under a lot of pressure. EVEN non Glastonbury booking pages could not be accessed (due to Glastonbury traffic). I think they would have to stop the traffic coming through the site after a reasonable time as all other ticket sales would be affected by the glastonbury traffic, which would be a huge loss of revenue for See.

So taking this into account I reckon more tickets will go onsale once the media hype has died down a little....

I had no idea it had sold out until I read this thread. I was convinced there'd be plenty of tickets left for a good few weeks at least - staggered by this news.

Still - after a year away, there was no way I wasn't going to get up at stupid o'clock, reg numbers ready, card in hand, Spazzbook chat on the go for 8.50am. It's the easiest I've ever found it, but I do feel for those who weren't so lucky.

Weren't people saying that Glasto had lost it's popularity? There is - in my opinion only one reason why this year seems to be so popular as opposed to 2008.

2008 - preceded by 2005/07. Mud. Didn't sell that quickly.

2010 - prediced by 2008/09. Sun. Sells out quickly.

I tell y'all - it's all to do with the weather.
