You were in the moment. I guess that's what counts more than anything. It was a good set, I did enjoy, it was Glasto, but I'm probably getting too old, and enjoyed gigs a bit more when I was younger. Or enjoyed them in a different way. In a christ I need three stitches in my head after getting flung against the stage after going over the top during a Sepultura gig type way.

Yeah, probably. What I remember from a gig I enjoy is the pure elation during and afterwards. Let's face it, if I saw one of the most musically perfect performances ever but was in a rotten mood throughout, I would find it harder to enjoy it.

I feel like an old bastard too, by the way. Give me a quiet Seth Lakeman gig at the Acoustic Stage nursing a pint of real ale over any over-zealous youngster prancing around on the Pyramid Stage.

Everything's too bloody noisy these days, bloody kids etc, etc.

Could have cut out all the solo stuff, maybe kept Band on the Run and lashed in a view more Lennon songs, a bit more of the obscure earlier stuff and a few of the better later tunes.

There are two parts of this post that disturb me greatly.

Another 'nicely drunk' moment for me at Glasto would have been Buddy Guy at Glasto 2008. But by the end, the Brothers had kicked in and I was beyond nicely drunk.

Roll Over Beethoven - great track, but with such a catalogue of tracks, why would he do a cover (except All Things Must Pass, but that was a tribute to George).

All about opinions I suppose and I do love all those tracks. But we're talking about quite a long performance here. One thing I will say is that maybe he could have played a Lennon song for his tribute as opposed to one he wrote FOR John when he died. Otherwise, I don't think he could have improved his set too much.
