I am particuarly looking forward to the 16hrs of sun per day on friday, saturday & sunday of the 3rd weekend in August 2009. The real ale tent being at the top of the hill is the cherry on the bakewell.

Chaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Side note, today is the day off I should be having off on Monday the 17th. Bugger.

Well this will be my 5th Summer Sundae, but I've never been looking forward to it as much before... I don't know why, but I've been checking the forum daily and counting down the days for a good few months now... Only a week and a bit to go!! Let's just hope that the weather has sorted itself out by then!!

Wooooooo hooooooo!!!!!

I haven't got rained on at SS since Gomez. Im sure you all imagine it  I did get stung by a wasp last year though, a fact I may have mentioned in passing to the odd person or two. Happily, I was sat outside the ale tent p*ssed and barely felt a thing :P

Yeah, Dodgy was a very wet one.

I've also been extremely rained on while watching Editors.

And Jose Gonzalez (THAT was one of the longest half hours of my life - wet and tedious!!!)

So, im the only one 'ere who liked Jose Gonzalez too....ho hum...

Anyways, this is our 4th in a row. And, whilst i am looking forward to it immensly, i DO think the line up this year is quite weak.....still, at least its cheap. And i get to see the majestic Mum. AND My Latest Novel. And Joy Formidable.

Mrs Butch just sent me a text to say she managed to get all day Thursday off work.

Now we can get there as soon as the campsite opens.

Whoo Hoo! Early start! ;)

So I'm at work counting down the hours until I can get in the car and head down to Leicester. Who else is setting up camp today? What time are you getting there? I can't wait for 5 o'clock to get here. Should be in Leicester by about 6.30... Just in time to get the tent up and then head out to the fringe

I'm in Leicester but I don't finish work until 8pm tonight - BAD planning. The sun is shining but the day is truly dragging. See you all on the buses tonight? (I may even get to go on one this year!)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
