I'll do a better job of predicting the weather for V

Friday - Searing heat stupidly hot beaming sun because you're lugging your shit

Saturday - Overcast on morning whilst you get rid of friday hangover followed by light drizzle 3pm-6pm then rain slowly getting heavier until midnight when the heavens open and it pisses it down and everything you own will be soggy

Sunday - OVercast start with breaks in cloud so we get 10 mins of sun to try and dry some shit followed by light drizzle at night just heavy enough to put you off staying out and finishing alcohol off

Monday- a mixture of sun and showers whilst you pack away with a slight cold and soggy clothes and a mild hangover but still thinking that was worth it

I'm going with the BBC website on this one...

Sunday 9 August 2009 to Saturday 22 August 2009

Settling down

Pressure continues to rise and a much more settled spell of weather is forecast.

There will still be some rain but we can expect levels to return to the seasonal average for most and some places will see less than that. However, late in the period there is the chance of some thundery showers bringing large volumes of rain to the south. There should be quite a bit of sunshine around, especially so in the north.

Temperatures are forecast to be above average for the whole country, although some southern parts may be a little closer to the seasonal average expected at this time of year.

That said, if I can manage to get through the mud fest of last year, I think I can cope with just about anything...

I threw away my wellies in the carpark as we were leaving Monday morning. Honestly didn't think i would put myself through all that crap. Looks like i shall be ordering new ones now. Funny thing was, our hired landrover was full to the brim with people and stuff, but some lads were quite upset that we wouldn't take their English flag emblazoned camping chairs with us. We would have been torched back over the border. Saes chairs in wales i think not.

The Met office has done a U-turn on its predictions for a "barbecue summer"

We're being told to keep an umbrella close to hand in August, as the current unsettled weather is set to continue well into next month.

Back in April the organisation's seasonal forecast appeared to promise several months of sunshine.

But now experts say the odds of a scorching summer were only ever 65%.

The Met Office is defending its record, saying people have already forgotten the beautiful weather many parts of Britain experienced throughout June.

Rain and plenty of it...

F*CK YEA!!!!!!

Quote from a website

Summer

August

The expectation for August is for another of the summer months to see rainfall totals widely above average, with some further quite wet periods in some parts of the country. Within that though, there is the probability of some longer dry and warm spells than we've seen in July developing during the month, as high pressure manages to excert some influence at times. In short though, it stays mixed with an extended hot and settled period looking unlikely at the current time.

I would settle for a mildly warm, dry 3 days!!!!!! 21st 22nd and 23rd...............

It's far to early to worry about weather predictions, I remember a couple of years back where on the Monday before the festival the predictions were promising, then by Friday they may as well have had a couple of those signs you see on pirate ships (skull and bones).

Overview

Friday - rain just as you get far enough from the nearest cover and only if you have packed your waterproofs in the stuff you are picking up on the second trip. Second trip mass sunshine so you boil in your now bone dry waterproofs.

Saturday - rain showers with a bit of sun to give you hope

Sunday - chucking it down

Monday - dry until you start packing up

In depth crappy weather for much of the weekend with a pissy weather front moving in from the north...

Will it affect my V? Doubt it, hasn't the last few years and its quite refreshing to dance in the light drizzle.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
