I've been coming to the Summer Sundae for five years now and for the first time I'm a bit in the dark about the majority of the acts performing. It's my own fault for listening to much more leftfield dance and electroinca over the last couple of years and neglecting other genres of music. I was just wondering if anyone could help with suggestions and recommendations of tracks for some of the artists on the bill to give me a better feel for what this years weekend has in store.

Many Thanks

This is exactly what I love about SSW. Many of the acts meant little to me so once again I speant hours on myspace and you tube and have now discovered some amazing acts. In particular this year I have discovered Frank Turner and have also got tickets for his tour in the autumn. Also looking forward to James Yuill, Airborne Toxic Event and Easy Star Allstars. Although I'm not as excited, it's also impressive to be hearing Mr Hudson and Dan Black getting quite a bit of exposure. Its gonna be a gud'un!

listen to spelt with a k not a c at

http://www.myspace.com/minnaars

seriously, its just stunningly catchy. dean jackson adores it, its soundtracked all our fringe meetings, and even richardH might slyly admit to liking it.

we signed them up as the first band the minute we heard it. we're delaying the minnaars slot till midnight, just so all the fringe team get to watch it!!!

I've been listening to that lastfm Summer Sundae Radio for a couple of days now, and found some gems.

múm had been recommended to me by lastfm before, so I was glad to see them on the bill.

David Tomas Broughton sounds like my sort of stuff, as does My Latest Novel.

I sort of don't want to research beforehand, as I love wandering round the stages, never knowing quite what to expect.
