Ive read a lot of good ideas on this forum about various different parts of the festival. The poeple that contribute these views are forum members and regulars to Glastonbury festival - to me these are the people who are qualified to make suggestions and produce ideas reagrding improvements to the festival.

My point is how much of this actually gets back to the organisers of the festival? Do they read this forum? They certainly should!

Don't worry, there are some on the board who are more than just talkers

Incidentally, there's nothing stopping you from getting in touch with GFL - contact info is on the main site. Last year I collected up a number of improvement suggestions from this board and sent them through - to their great credit they came back and answered every point, albeit mostly with a "yeah we've tried that and it didn't work" etc.

I will definitely be in touch soon to give feedback on this year - whilst it's up to them what they do with it, I think it's important to tell them how punters feel.

I know for certain that various senior members of the festival staff read these forums on a regular basis.

Whether or not they take any suggestions made here on board I don't know, tho there's a strong likelihood that most suggestions that might be made are probably things that have already been considered at some point by the festival, and rejected for what is considered good reason by the festival.

Move the D barrier further back. Add flag poles/lights/whatever from the edge of each side of the D to the front corners of arena and request no flags or chair beyond that point. I felt that the narrow exits and people with chairs in the D resulted in an increased safety hazard.

I felt sorry for the disabled patrons stuck on the hill at the back. Why don't they have a raised viewing platform in front of the mixing desk?

Personally, the whole place was too crowded for me, although, admirably, queuing was never too bad in the festival. Clearly it has been worse in earlier years and doesn't put many off, so I don't expect any action on that.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
