This was my 5th festival in a row too. Whilst I still had an amazing time, I was acutely aware that I've got a little one back at home now and sitting in a field for 5 days doing as many drugs as possible just isn't as pleasurable as playing with my son! So, decided that this was my last mad one and we'll do the family thing next year and see a different side to Glastonbury. I've done enough staggering around those fields tripping out of my mind!!!

mmmmmm...... nah!

Reading about the percentage of pondlife, overcrowding and the sh*thead security on the campervan gate just reiterates my underlying belief that Glasto has lost it...

I'm not sure why many people are assuming they'll get tickets....although this year was easy, next year may not be. I think if they remain with the deposit scheme in October then it should be ok as many 'casual' goers don't decide so far in advance...also the idea of having staggered intakes of people may make some people think more before deciding whether or not they want to go.

Does anyone know if the October deposit scheme is still on?

I think some people forget about the days of 250,000 turning up on site :) and those days being thought about as some of the best days ;)

Trust me, I would love to return to Glasto, had a love-affair with it from 90 - 00 but only been back twice this decade...last time I had security issues and as a campervan owner who likes a smoke...gate C puts an unacceptable stress on me.. ;)

Such a shame..

the overcrowding I mention is not whole-site based, just the fact that HSE limitations now mean any late night fun is crammed into the one area..

Who knows, never say never I guess.. :D

We had one of our best Glastos yet this year (that was number 5).

After a miserable 2007 and last year off (moving house that weekend) we deserved a good un .

Will definately be back next year (if we get tickets) although will have a 6 month old in tow next Glasto!

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
    • Citizenship via investment programs basically work by saying if you invest this much in our economy (say buy a property worth x) then we will either grant you citizenship or residency with a route to it. The EU has rules on how low countries can set the bar. Montenegro was one of the easier ones to get and they've had to tighten it up.
