Negotiations went a bit like this.

I didn't go last year cause you were pregnant and didn't go this year cause could really afford it and had a wedding to go to. (Sad bu true!!)

Next year I am going. Question is how mnay 20 pound notes do I have to give you to stop you giving me a hard time :-)

Expensive but so much quicker.

I did get to go to reading festival but it isn't quite the same.

Heh heh - glad I'm clearly not the only one...strength in numbers eh chaps???

Can't see me ever going back - not going with the nipper and since me and the mrs actually met at Glasto and she was a veteran well before me there's not a snowball's chance in hell she'll ever consent to me going without her.

Oh well, hubba hubba, garden will be nice to sit in this evening and at least Murray is still in the tennis....

Since 97 I've missed one festival - and that was because I was on the other side of the world. This year I have a baby due - which is amazing, obviously - but I'm really struggling with not being there.

I'm checking the weather constantly, listening to Worthy FM, texting my mates who are there, and, not wanting to sound melodramatic, EVERY TIME I DO IT'S LIKE A KNIFE IN THE HEART.

This baby will be bearing a great burden of guilt.

I been listening tourturing myself:P, as I am starting to regret choosing to go T over Glasto this yea but then my festival buddy didn't feel up to starting off with Glasto:P.

Just wait until the TV coverage starts then its going to be real tourture.

Bring on Glasto 2010!

The better half has just called in in a fit of "no glasto" depression, it's going to be a very long weekend. Thank god we've got a wedding to go to on Sunday so we've got something else to focus on.

We picked the wrong year to miss out.

If it was next year, at least we'd have the World Cup to look forward to every evening.

Grrr....

Right, trying to stay positive. Things I won't miss:

- The back breaking walk from West Car Park 34,612 to the campsite

- Fern Cotton wannabees festival-daytripping and trying to get their picture taken down the front at the Pyramid

- The sinking feeling when you realise the mud levels are beyond drying out, and another festival is a wash out

- 6am tent incineration in the morning sun. With a hangover

- The 'it's not as good as it used to be' feeling (get that at least once a year)

- Arrgh, there's grass on my toothbrush

- The band I most want to see start in 10 minutes, I have an amazing spot, and I need to piss like a racehorse

- Why are there only three of you serving behind a 40ft long bar?

- How is it Sunday already? Nooooo

Indeed! I'd best not hear a single moan about the lineup from my mates when they get back. I'd love to know how Eavis is going to top Sprinsteen/Young/Spinal Tap/Easy Star All Stars/Doves/Bon Iver/Cold War Kids/The SPecials/Madness/Blur/Progidy (and tonnes more) for us next year, he's going to have a job to.

You've covered most of them mate, but here are a few more:

  • Boooolllllllllooooooooocks!!!!!

  • The trudge back to the car knowing it's over for another year

  • "We've over here! By the sound desk!"

  • W**kers jutting a mobile phone in front of your view

  • Flags by the front of the stage

  • That really bad squidgy shit that just doesn't feel all that relieving - always have one of those a year

  • The 'bad choice' food - looks nice, decent price, then you discover why it's a decent price

  • 'Trendy' girls in wellies even though it's 25 degrees and desert-esque

  • Guy rope danger

To add to the things I won't miss list

* Wet Rizzla papers

* Neck ache (always end up with it by the time I come home)

* Not being able to have a poo without someone trying to open the door

* In fact not being able to read the paper/book whilst having my morning movements

Got a phone call at lunchtime from my young nephews.

Three of them laughing at me down the phone and singing "You're not at Glasters!"

Stupid work - why can't Glasters be in the school holidays (or my school holidays be the same time as Glasters)

Still - going to watch any coverage in case I spot them all :O

2003 ruled all. Flaming Lips then Radiohead as the sun went down.

I think this year is pretty average. Apart from Fleet Foxes. And Bon Iver. Oh, and Neil Young. And Animal Collective, obviously, leave them out. And... :O:):):(

Who am I kidding. Nurse! The pills!
