Ok Artic Monkey UK your initial statement seems a tad narrow minded but the fact you are prepared to go to Glastonbury to experience something new, then i applaud you for that. If i am honest i think the line up on the main stage is top heavy with older acts and would have liked one or two up and coming bands to perform on there. Across the site there is so much variation that i am sure you will find something to enjoy.

Can i just say there are some really uptight people on this message board, verging on total snobbery which in my mind is not what going to festivals is all about.

I don’t think the line up is great compared to previous Glastonburys but it still pisses on any other festival from a great height

And the less headliners I want to see the better as I get more time to spend up in the circus/cabaret/trash city/green fields seeing weird stuff you don’t get to see anywhere else

but if Lionel RichTea was playing I would go and see him :)

Im not even trying to.

A few posts up i stated that i was looking forward to experiencing glastonbury and would be happy to provide my thoughts next week - i've never been before so i dont know what to expect, but a lot of the bands playing didnt interest me.

Seems im probably best just wishing everyone a fantastic time at Glasto, then just leaving this thread. :)

f**king hell some people are dicks on this forum. So what the line up isnt to his taste, doesn't make him a dickhead. I personally think its great but fair play to him if he doesn't, everyone has different tastes . So f**k off, stay behind your computer for the next 8 days and don't bother leaving :D

ArcticMonkeysUK - I hope you discover a load of great new music. Have you tried the Efests Spotify playlist? I've got into a couple of bands in the past months in preparation for the festival. Personally I think this years line-up is the best for a while despite there being no bands I REALLY badly want to see.

    • Healey's first budget with be Oct 28th
    • Been going for 10 years. Wasn't massively keen on the lineup beforehand - although as usual after some research I did start to really look forward to it. We had a brilliant time, felt more like old school Latitude, lovely vibe and we met some nice people. We saw loads but highlights for me -   Lime Garden Florence Road Jalen Ngonda David Byrne - Not a fan of him or TH really but we went out of interest and it was one of those festival shows that you'll never forget. The staging was off the scale. Eleni Drake - Up on BBC Introducing, what a haven that stage is.  Westside Cowboy Getdown Services - Probably highlight of the weekend for me. Absolutely brilliant and have booked tix for them in Bristol next year. Everything Everything - They're my favourite band so I loved it when they were added. A great start to Sunday and met loads of their fans up near the front. Alex James Britpop - We enjoyed it and Gary Stringer FFS! David O'Doherty - Saw him twice, brilliant as usual. Self Esteem - Adore Rebecca and the show was as live affirming as always.   Overall, it was such a brilliant weekend. Beforehand we said that we might give it a miss next year but I'm pretty sure that we'll be sucked right back in!
    • Me too.  Reckon they must have more this year.   Not bad is it - ended up paying same price as this year.  It still represents great value for me.  Well, until I check my bank account the Monday after the weekend.
    • Well mayors have more powers to do that sh*t...but they have to make the numbers add up.
