michael macintyre is just not funny. i only found out a few months ago he was a comedian.

having only seen him on things like mock the week or whatever i just though he had a famous dad/did reality tv or something.

These acts you've mentioned aer already really big regularly playing large theatres & in some cases arenas. Watson & Gilbert will soon be doing theatre tours, Jim Jeffries has his first proper UK theatre tour coming up this autumn/xmas too.

Agree with you on Peter Kay's stand up too, it shouldn't even be referred to as 'stand up' more 'idiots...here's stuff you recognise'

  • 2 weeks later...

with the dates for Edinburgh ive started looking at comedians dates so we can get a good idea who is (or isnt) here (yes im very very bored)

Jim Jeffries - In America during festival

Mark Watson - Doing Edinburgh show during festival so could come down for 2 afternoon gigs

Adam Hills - Doing his Inflatable show between 6th & 31st in Edinburgh

Stephen K Amos - Gap in tour between end of July and October

Dave Gorman - Playing in London on the 22nd

Ed Byrne - New tour starting October.

Jarred Christmas (guy from pot noodle adverts) - Not going to Edinburgh dates stop after 22nd Aug - Strong chance

Ian Stone - same as Jarred - Strong chance

wow that was half hour waster just to find out 1 person carnt play

Sean Lock is playing in Hartlepool next week for Dock Fest. Almost no comedy scene here whatsoever so I'm quite surprised he's coming.

I imagine he's a bit big for Leeds though but I tohught he was too big for Hartlepool! Tickets sold out on first day mind.

Steve Hughes (used to be a drummer for Mortal Sin - Heavy metal band) but also very funny imo.

Stephen K Amos.

Stewart Francis.

Lol just realised I like comedians all starting with S.

But like I think they are realistic size to be on the list.

Some comedians mentioned are too big to be there in my opinion.

Calm down dear! Clearly there are alot of comedians too big for Reading/Leeds. The organisers themselvedss have admitted that they won't book huge name comedians. If you look at the likes of Lattitude the comparrison is huge with the comedians that they book.

Yeah in the past there have been some big names playing but you'll only get perhaps one a year ands they're never really that big.
