its such a bad setting to have huge names on it. I can imagine there being a lot of trouble one year. Like it's been said before health and saftey issues. stampeding and crushing because of how small the hill is infront of the stage. It's a great setting for medium sized bands though.

Having said that. Elbow are still in the media and after the year theyve had. and Artic Monkeys with a new album especially after Last Shadow Puppets last year.

I think Thom Yorke doing a solo will cause a riot but I could see him doing it.

Well never say never with that lot but it's not The Libertines. Nothing gets sorted this far in advance. If anything happens it'll be decided about five minutes before they get on a stage and if that did happen it would probably just be Peter and Carl who'll both be there anyway, but Gary doesn't go every year and John lives in Denmark now.

They said it wont be released so what makes you think they are gonna whack it on a text to all and sundry?

My thoughts is its something to do with the motown thing and could possibly be the Jacksons!

The Klaxons as good as they are are not gonna cause a health and safety issue.

Hmm, think I need to stop reading these threads  I get the speculation about 'who' but I don't get the questions about 'who' playing in 'what slot?' The idea of these Special Guests is that they aren't going to be announced so we won't know who is playing or in what slot until the Festival itself....GlastoNav, Q Daily, posters on site, word of mouth all may tell you day to day but Emily said nothing would be announced? Even if we speculate accurately about 'who' i'm pretty sure we won't know 'when' 'till then!

dont get me wrong, i think its quite clever what they're doing this year about all the special guests.

but my god, its friggin annoying. yeah, it adds excitement, but i'd like to think we'll find out before hittin the festival, so we are aware of any clashes.

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
